Abstract

This thesis discuses the history of the Duesenberg automobile with a focus on the Model J. It also discusses the development of luxury cars up to World War II, as well as a comparison with the mass production auto industry. The paper addresses car culture and consumer culture in the United States during the 1920's and 1930's.
