Abstract

Feminist theatre is a constantly evolving art. This thesis looks at a production of Caryl Churchill's Top Girls through the eyes of the director, and, through a brief look at the history of feminist theatre, seeks to understand themes of Churchill's work that are still relevant and important today, and takes a look at where feminist theatre has been going since 1982 when Top Girls was first performed.
